GFU Library Textbook Affordability Program
The George Fox Library Textbook Affordability Program (TAP) launched summer 2016. Read our blog posts on results since launching our Library Textbook Affordability Program.
The library will work with teaching faculty to reduce students' textbook costs and increase their academic engagement through two concurrent strategies:
- Assist departmental faculty as they adopt or adapt open textbooks as the basis for their syllabi
- Identify required texts that either the library already owns as e-books or can purchase as e-books that students may use in addition to, or instead of, a print copy that they purchase. (Traditional textbooks are not normally available for the library to purchase as e-books)
Benefits to students include a reduction in the cost of attending college and increased opportunities for engagement and academic success.
Helping with textbook affordability is a Library goal. George Fox librarians look forward to working with faculty colleagues to provide high quality educational resources to students while saving them money.
