Scholarly work is often published as journal articles, which you can find by searching in various databases. Each database allows you to search a particular set of scholarly journals. You will want to cast your net wide at first, trying various search words (keywords) and browsing through the results in each database. If you are unfamiliar with scholarly research articles, you might check out the video below.

The Religion Database provides a wide range of primarily full-text, international periodicals for diverse religious and spiritual studies, covering formal theological studies of major religions, as well as the most recent trends and scholarly thought. Included are titles from religious publishing bodies and nondenominational organizations. The resource reflects a wide spectrum of religious belief systems and supports the global study of religion.

Backfiles of hundreds of important journals in the arts and sciences.
Some of the records in JSTOR are index-only, meaning that they are findable based on the title, author, abstract or other metadata, but the full text is not included in GFU's JSTOR subscription. If you find one of these, don't despair! Try searching for the title in Library Search/PRIMO - we most likely have access through one of our other subscriptions.
