The process of research always starts with questions, and it is heavily affected by the questions we ask. The types of questions we use, the language and tone we use in asking, and the specificity we use all impact the information we receive in answer. This is true in person-to-person communication, but it is CRITICAL when using tools from search engines to databases to generative AI.
The first video on this page talks about choosing a topic for research, and in the process covers how your questions can impact the results you see as well as how those results should impact your question.
The second video is a rapid-fire overview of a method called the QFT, or Question Formulation Technique. It's a great way to practice engaging curiosity, but it also provides a useful framework to help generate and iterate questions before you jump in to the search and exploration process.
