Certifications

Below is a short list of certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI) that are well respected and could be helpful as you start and advance your career. These are certificates in addition to your degree that help demonstrate competency in your field. While there is a year range listed below for most of these this requirement will be lowered after successful completion of your bachelors degree.

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
23 hours of project management education. No PM experience hours needed.
Project Management Professional (PMP)
35 hours of project management education, plus 3-5 years of project management experience.
Program Management Professional (PgMP)
4 years of project management experience plus 4-7 years of program management experience.
Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)
8 years of professional business experience plus 4-7 years of portfolio management experience.
