Beverly Cleary Children's Choice Award This award is to encourage reading by highlighting good quality literature (fiction and nonfiction) written on the second - third grade reading level, taking into account text, format and the illustrations of the books. The award is sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries.

Pura Belpré Award The award is named after Pura Belpré, the first Latina librarian at the New York Public Library. The Pura Belpré Award, established in 1996, is presented annually to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.

Library Journal – Published 20 times a year, 2 times a month with the exception of January, July, August, and December, by Media Source Inc. It contains articles on library issues as well as positive and negative reviews of books, reference materials, and A/V materials. It is written for public, academic, and school librarians by librarians.
School Library Journal – Published monthly by Media Source Inc. with features about library issues and positive and negative reviews for children and young adult books, reference, and A/V material.
