EDUC 412: Literacy for Children & Adolescents: Find Books from Other Libraries

Exploring the Library Landscape

If you don't find what you're looking for in the George Fox Juvenile Collection or through Summit, you can request books from even more libraries via WorldCat and Interlibrary Loan, or you can visit one of the many local libraries. The Newberg Public Library offers free cards to George Fox students and is in walking distance of campus, but you may also qualify for a library card in your hometown (this includes online services if you aren't from the area). Also note that many large library systems (like Multnomah County in Portland, Houston Public Library in Texas, and Denver Public Library in Colorado) offer online library cards to residents statewide with a state-issued ID. Check in with your local public librarian or contact Kate Wimer at Murdock Library to explore more.
