Student Introduction to FoxTALE: Adding Course Calendars to Google Calendaring

Adding Course Calendars to Google Calendaring

How to Add Course Calendars to Your Google Calendaring

Assignment due dates will automatically appear in your Google calendaring when you set up a FoxTALE calendar in Google.

  • Enter FoxTALE
  • In the Dashboard Navigation drawer, on the left side of the screen, click on Calendar
  • In the Calendar view, click on Export Calendar
  • Select All Events and select Custom range
  • Click on Get calendar URL
  • Copy the URL
  • Leave FoxTALE and enter your George Fox Google calendaring
  • Locate Other calendars on the left side of the screen and click on Add other calendars, which displays as the icon: +
  • In the menu that pops up select From URL
  • Paste the URL in the text box labeled, URL of Calendar
  • Click on Add calendar
  • In the Other Calendars listing, confirm that the box displayed in front of your new calendar's name is checked.  Assignment events will now display in your calendar view.

The calendar you have added in Google calendaring automatically synchronizes with the FoxTALE calendar, meaning that whenever an assignment due date is added in one of your FoxTALE courses, that due date will display as an event in the Google calendaring.

NOTE: The synchronization updates between FoxTALE and Google calendaring can take several hours to be completed.
