Creating a VoiceThread

How to Create a VoiceThread for an Assignment

  1. Use the Firefox or Chrome browser. Other browsers experience issues.
  2. Enter the VoiceThread assignment in FoxTALE.
  3. When you have entered the assignment click on Open in a new tab.
  4. Click on Create new VoiceThread.
  5. You can drag onto this page a file that is on your computer or click on Menu.
    ​The Menu includes
    • My Computer -  browse to your computer to select and upload a file
    • Media Sources - bring in a file from a source such as Google Drive
    • Audio Recording - make an audio file using your webcam microphone
    • Webcam Photo - take a photo using your webcam camera
    • Webcam video - make a video file using your webcam microphone and camera
    • URL - share the web link for a video that is hosted in a source such as YouTube
  6. The Thread Settings form pops up, prompting you to title the VoiceThread.
  7. Click on Save.
  8. You will move to the Create new VoiceThread page, which allows you to add more media, add comments, and then click on Submit assignment.
  9. A new page pops up to prompt you to Submit Assignment. You have the option to check the box entitled, "and share with class", meaning that you will share the VoiceThread with all students who are enrolled in the course site with you. If you do no check this box, your VoiceThread will only be visible to the instructor.
