Creating an EdPuzzle Assignment

How to Create an EdPuzzle Assignment in Canvas

  • Enter your Canvas course site
  • Enter Modules and Add an assignment
  • In the assignment Edit page
    • Give the assignment a Point value
    • In the Submission Type dropdown menu select Online
    • Select External Tool
    • Find EdPuzzle in the tool list and select it
  • This will move you automatically into EdPuzzle where you can create a new account or sign into your existing account
  • Click on the Content you want to use or click on the button, Add New Content
  • In the EdPuzzle editor, click Add Content to select how you will add content: Discover, Upload, or Record
  • Select the Questions tab
  • Place your cursor at the point on the video timeline where you want to insert a question
  • Select the question type (i.e., multiple choice, open-ended, or note)
  • Build the question and click on Save
  • Click on Continue to add a new question to the video timeline
  • Click Finish when all questions have been added
  • Return to the Canvas assignment Edit page
  • Select the EdPuzzle content you want to use in the assignment
  • Click Next
  • Activate/Deactivate Prevent Skipping questions and Turn On Captions
  • Click Assign
  • Click Select
  • Scroll to the bottom of the assignment Edit page and click Save and Publish to share the assignment with students

To see the work students have completed for the assignment, enter the assignment and click on the button, Load EdPuzzle in a new window. You will see the roster of students, and for each student the percentage of the video watched, the number of attempts made, and the current score for the student. The score will report into Grads.

 

Help
