How to Host Your Recordings in Canvas

When you are ready to share your recording with learners, there are two options for hosting your video file in a Canvas course site.

Option 1: YouTube

If your recording does not include copyright-protected material, YouTube is an easy and reliable host. In addition to sharing your media in Canvas course sites, you can share YouTube links in emails, embed YouTube in Google slides, and upload videos directly into your YouTube account from many mobile apps.

• Log into YouTube.com with your @georgefox.edu email and password
• Activate your George Fox YouTube channel if you have not already done so
• Upload your video file to YouTube. If you are working in a media application (e.g., Camtasia, Screencastify, Explain Everything), check your Share settings to see if the application allows you to Sign In to YouTube and upload media files directly from the application)
• In YouTube copy the Share link for your video and add that YouTube link in your Canvas course site

Option 2: ShareStream

If your recording includes copyright-protected material, or you need to provide password protection for your recording, ShareStream uses George Fox usernames and passwords to protect access to your work.
